Christmas Meal This was a prebooked work Christmas meal for 8 people.Couple of hitches with the meals chosen but rectified very quickly with no fuss and the special meal requested for dietary requirements was perfect. Lovely atmosphere and the food delicious good service throughout by all the staff

Great NYE dinner I booked a table for ten for New Year's Eve dinner for a bunch of friends. It worked very well. The food was very good - although the salmon special had run out by 9pm when we ordered. The slow-cooked beef special and the chicken kiev were great. The food is definitely not 'mediocre' as described below. We go three or four times a year and it's good pub food. But most impressive on NYE was the service. The waiters were very attentive. They were happy to get us drinks as the various couples arrived. Our water jugs were kept filled. When it got too hot they sorted it out and, best of all, they brought us a little pot of the beef gravy for the four of us who'd chosen that. We were well looked after and splitting the bill several ways at the end of the evening didn't phase them. Well done and thank you for a nice evening at our local pub!
